Due to increased poaching, the white rhino in South Africa has been on the endangered species list since 2013. During the pandemic, country-wide lockdowns slowed tourism, leaving many wildlife preserves unable to pay anti-poaching rangers to protect the rhinos. In our story, we follow a young girl named Litha, who lives in the struggling Xhosa communities near the game reserves. Litha meets the last remaining ranger and learns about the rhinos' struggle for survival. She is quickly drawn into a dangerous situation that threatens not only the rhinos but also herself and the last ranger.
